Ecova Celebrates 13 Years as ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year

Martin Sieh, Chief Operating Officer at ENGIE Insight

We are proud to announce that the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR® program has recognized ENGIE Insight (formerly Ecova) as a Partner of the Year for the 13th year in a row, and as a Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence for the last 11 years. We’re equally proud to represent over 20 clients that were each recognized as a 2017 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year.

An organization’s compliance with ENERGY STAR standards shows its public commitment to working within the natural limits of the environment. It is also a cross-industry standard of energy efficiency that’s not only tied to reducing utility costs, but also to reducing carbon emissions.

This recognition confirms our dedication to building sustainable business practices ourselves and to helping our clients build sustainable organizations. In 2016, we used our data measurement and performance insights to secure ENERGY STAR certification for 21 clients and 223 buildings, and helped 304 buildings earn recertification. We are now benchmarking energy efficiency in over 58,000 U.S. buildings every month — and we do all of this as part of our leadership and stewardship in the energy industry.

This year marks 20 years of energy management success for ENGIE Insight. In reflecting on our ENERGY STAR partnership awards, business growth and technological advancements, we’re pleased with the progress we’ve made since our foray into the energy industry.

Over the last two decades, public focus on energy consumption has deepened from building sustainability-focused campaigns to establishing sustainability-focused companies. This stronger commitment to sustainability across organizations has provided rich insights into the value of energy efficiency, and has encouraged us in our role to help organizations become ENERGY STAR certified and, on a broader scale, carefully monitor their impact on the environment.

We’ve also witnessed that change is constant in the energy industry. Markets shift and technology changes, and we’re proud to say that we’ve demonstrated our ability to evolve with each development. We were thriving in 1997 when the Internet of Things (IoT) was a concept of the future, and we’re thriving 20 years later as we lead the charge in blending data and technology with people and insight to support sustainability management efforts in organizations across dozens of industries and around the globe.

Few things are more rewarding than to look at where we’ve been, where we are now and to look to the future. We are proud to be an ENERGY STAR partner as we step forward with our organizations into an exciting time for energy and sustainability management.
