New brand represents the company’s singular focus on data-driven insights for sustainable resource management
Spokane, WA — January 22, 2018 — Ecova, a leading energy and sustainability management company, today announced its rebrand to ENGIE Insight. The new name reflects the company’s singular focus on helping multi-site customers unlock data-driven insights to achieve business results while reducing their resource consumption – including energy, water, waste, and telecommunications.
With significant support from its parent company ENGIE, the rebrand comes as ENGIE Insight is making a large, multi-year investment in technology and capabilities for its integrated expense and data management and advisory solutions, such as energy supply management. The company’s solutions are trusted by the market’s largest customer base, including 25 percent of the Fortune 500.
“The name ENGIE Insight represents what makes us unique — our ability to collect and analyze disparate and complex data so that our multi-site customers can benefit from energy and other resource insights that enable consumption and cost reduction,” said Mathias Lelievre, president and chief executive officer at ENGIE Insight. “The new ENGIE Insight brand also demonstrates a broad alignment of mission and vision with ENGIE, marking a moment in time when we are intensifying and accelerating our focus on core technology-enabled managed and advisory services. We will enable customers to not only conserve and reduce resource usage, but do it as their businesses grow – now is the time to shift to models that allow us to grow without consuming more.”
Since ENGIE acquired Ecova in 2014, the two companies have helped customers architect a new energy future by navigating three broad market forces: digitization, decentralization, and decarbonization. The new brand of ENGIE Insight is accelerating momentum and awareness around this shared mission. By associating more closely with ENGIE, the most valuable utility brand in the world, ENGIE Insight will have a greater, more impactful voice in the global energy and sustainability revolution.
ENGIE Insight will maintain its third-party trusted advisor status in energy procurement bids, through rigorous data security and compliance standards and a demonstrated vendor-agnostic approach.
ENGIE Insight sister companies OpTerra [Oakland, Calif.] and Green Charge [Santa Clara, Calif.] will also assume the ENGIE brand. OpTerra’s new name is ENGIE Services U.S. and Green Charge is ENGIE Storage.
“By uniting these companies under the ENGIE brand, we want to accelerate solutions for customers to best suit the way they want to run their operations,” said Frank Demaille, president and chief executive officer of ENGIE North America. “ENGIE Insight, ENGIE Storage, and ENGIE Services U.S. combine performance and sustainability – whether on a stand-alone basis or as a combination. The men and women of these and all of our other businesses work every day to tackle the complex and the detailed to deliver clear, straightforward results for customers and our communities.”
